A Collage Approach to Monotype

Prepare for this workshop by creating stencils and gathering materials for texture and mark making. After a demonstration in the studio, develop vibrant color and intriguing imagery by using stencils and found materials to build layers of oil based ink and incorporating chine collé and drawing media. Continue working with the ghost image after each print is pulled to produce a series of related monotypes.
All inks and tools except paper are included in this full day workshop designed for two. Sign up with a friend - the cost is $125 each, plus paper.

Cigar Box Collage Workshop

 
Compose and construct cigar box collages using your own works on paper including monotypes, etchings, drawings, and block prints. Gather found papers such as old documents and sheet music, and collect found objects with personal meaning. Learn how to prepare cigar boxes, compose compelling arrangements, glue papers, and attach found objects. Complete two cigar box collages during this six hour workshop.
